The Old Course is widely considered to represent modern architecture at its very best and is perennially rated as one of Europe’s elite courses.
Gil Hanse's first course in continental Europe sits on sandy soils and gently rolling terrain. The New Course plays firm and fast with wide playing corridors framed by heather and broom. The 7,391 yard (6,759 meters), Gil Hanse-designed New Course, inspired by the classical heathland style, sits on sandy soils and plays hard and fast through heather, broom and century old pine, chestnut, birch and oak trees. A couple of months after opening, the New Course was included in GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 Courses in the World 2021-2022.
